How to remove price stickers on a comic books or magazines without damaging it

If you’re a thrift shopper or just enjoy going through clearance bins, you’ll often buy things that have non-removable price sticker on it. Usually I’ll just peel it off, but sometimes the stickers are impossible to remove without damaging the item.

George Perez Gallery

Hello, this is a call to other George Perez fans, who might be able to help me out. As you know, my old webhost, TypePad is closing its door on September 30, 2025, and I’m temporarily moving George Perez-related material to wheartm.com (WordPress). If you can point me in a hosting solution (preferably free or very low cost), or you can donate storage - please email me.

Registered Historical Facts 2025

When I was moving, I couldn’t bring everything with me. So, I thought the easiest thing was to leave my CDs, DVDs, and books behind. I figure I had already ripped all my DVDs and CDs, and, you know, I could always rebuild. I just didn’t have the room to bring everything with me.
Turns out, leaving books and CDs behind was one of the biggest regrets of my life.

Book Report: DC Finest

Here is a rare book report for you. Amazon has reduced many of the physical-only DC Finest books, as part of their Father’s Day sale. In addition, if you buy two books, you save an additional 50% off the second book, resulting in about less than $20 per book. Retail price is $40, so this is a very good savings, considering that these titles were launched fairly recently.

RIP Dan Storper (Putumayo) and Peter David (The Incredible Hulk)

We have just heard that Dan Storper the founder, creator, and president of Putumayo World Music, has died. In non-music death news, American comic book writer Peter David has recently died at the age of 68. Anyone who have followed comic books, will not be that surprised by his passing.

Misfit Corner Comics at Beach Boulevard Flea Market

By now you all know my sad tale of losing about half my comic book collection when I moved to Jacksonville. I have sworn to never buy anything again… but you all knew that wasn’t going to last. I just have to be smart about what goes into my collection and what I can live without. One thing that I know I can’t get back into is collecting toys. Toys takes up so much space, valuable space that I don’t have.

The Magic of Wandering Days

Nobody’s Empire by Stuart Murdoch. There are plenty of artists who cross genres into writing books—actors, directors, and musicians have all tried this form of creative expression. It doesn’t surprise me that musicians venture into the literary genre, especially singer-songwriters, who only have to trade their microphone for a pen to tell a story that sings. Stuart Murdoch, the singer-songwriter behind Belle and Sebastian, the Scottish indie-pop band that gained acclaim in the early ‘90s behind Murdoch’s witty lyrics and gorgeous melodies, seems perfectly suited to the task. Besides writing several albums that now span decades, Murdoch has published The Celestial Café, a collection of blog entries, poems, and lyrics, and written and directed a film, 2014’s God Help the Girl, about a lost and lonely young woman who starts a band with friends in Glasgow.

Write About Love, and Music, and California

On a blustery, cold San Francisco night (cold for San Francisco, that is—a frigid 45 degrees), I walked to the end of a long line of well-dressed indie kids of all ages. We were queuing up on Valencia Street outside The Chapel music venue in San Francisco’s Mission District, the neighborhood that just happened to play a part in Nobody’s Empire, the debut novel by Stuart Murdoch, Scottish singer and mastermind behind the twee-pop wonderband Belle and Sebastian. Fans of the band, which dug its deep, pop hooks and its wispy rhymes into the hearts of twee music lovers from 1996 on, also know it as the name of one of their songs and the album it’s on. The book tour promos played to its audience: It was marketed as a night of “readings, songs, live Q&A, and book signing,” and it featured informal chats with moderators and hosts Mike Schulman and Nommi Alouf, the latter of whom figures in the novel as the college radio station DJ who invites the main character on her radio show.

The Chinese Connection

I think by now you’ve all heard that Elon Musk is a liar and cheater. Last year, Musk boasts that he’s ranked top 20 players worldwide on Diablo IV, and that was already suspicious. I personally didn’t believe it, but I didn’t really care or questioned it because, I had stopped playing the game (because it sucks).
